Who You Are

You are a builder. You get more satisfaction from watching a workflow run clean than from anything that involves a meeting. You understand how MSP operations work: service platforms, automation tools, integrations, documentation, reporting, and the places where humans are doing work that software should be doing instead. You know how to build systems that others can trust, support, and maintain. You think about documentation, error handling, security, and long-term ownership from the beginning, not after something breaks.

You are not just an automation executor. You come in with opinions. You look at a PSA and immediately start thinking about what it could do better. You know what a well-configured system feels like versus one that has been patched together over time, and you have the skills and the drive to close that gap.

You write and communicate in clear, professional English. You hold yourself accountable without being closely managed, and you are energized by working with a team that is serious about building something great. You thrive async, take pride in documentation, and understand that clean, maintainable systems are a form of craftsmanship.

You value maintainability, documentation, and operational reliability just as much as speed, and you believe systems should be built well enough for others to confidently support and improve them

Role Overview

We are looking for an Automation & Platform Engineer who will own the technology that makes Uprise run. This is not a front-line support queue role. It is a platform ownership role, and it is a critical piece of how we scale our managed services operation without scaling headcount at the same rate.

You will serve as the person responsible for the development, configuration, and ongoing optimization of our service delivery platforms and the automation ecosystem built around them. You will be the one who knows our systems better than anyone, identifies where they fall short, and drives the improvements that make our engineers faster and our service delivery more consistent.

This is a high-impact role for someone who wants to leave their fingerprints on how a growing MSP operates. If you want to do more than maintain someone else’s work and are ready to build something you are proud of, this is your seat.

What You’ll Do

In this role you will:

  • Improve core MSP platforms by building configurations, workflows, and automations that support consistent service delivery.
  • Identify manual, repetitive, inconsistent, or error-prone processes and turn them into reliable, reusable workflows.
  • Design and build automation workflows using APIs, webhooks, scripting, and automation platforms.
  • Build workflows with proper logging, alerting, error handling, and documentation so issues surface quickly and can be supported by others.
  • Maintain integrations across PSA, RMM, Microsoft 365/Azure, security, monitoring, backup, and other MSP platforms.
  • Manage API connections, authentication, permissions, and token handling with a focus on security and maintainability.
  • Partner with Managed Services and Service Desk leadership to prioritize improvements that reduce manual effort, improve data quality, and create better operational visibility.
  • Document workflows, dependencies, support procedures, and ownership, so systems remain maintainable as the business scales.

Success in this role means building reliable systems that reduce manual effort, improve consistency, increase operational visibility, and help the business scale efficiently.

Qualifications

Required

  • Prior experience working within an MSP or IT services environment
  • Hands-on experience administering or improving PSA, RMM, automation, or other MSP service delivery platforms
  • Experience building automation workflows using tools such as Power Automate, Zapier, Make, n8n, or similar platforms
  • Strong working knowledge of REST APIs, JSON, webhooks, and system integrations
  • Scripting experience in Python or PowerShell
  • Strong written and verbal English communication skills
  • Ability to work independently in an async environment aligned to U.S. Eastern Time
  • Strong attention to detail, accountability, and a process-oriented mindset
  • Experience building workflows with proper logging, alerting, error handling, and documentation

Preferred

  • Experience with Halo PSA or similar PSA platforms
  • Familiarity with RMM platforms and how they integrate with PSA and automation tools
  • Experience with Microsoft 365 and Azure administration
  • Experience with NinjaOne or similar RMM platforms
  • Experience with SQL, Power BI, reporting, dashboards, or service delivery analytics
  • Experience documenting workflows, SOPs, or technical processes in a knowledge base platform

We encourage you to apply even if you feel that you do not meet all of the above qualifications.
Frequently cited statistics show that women and underrepresented groups apply to jobs only if they meet 100% of the qualifications. No one ever meets 100% of the requirements. We look forward to your application!
