Who You Are:

You’re a versatile IT professional who thrives at the intersection of technology, strategy, and client partnership. As a Solutions Engineer, you bring broad technical knowledge across infrastructure, cloud, security, and modern workplace systems. You design and deliver reliable, scalable solutions that help growing businesses operate with confidence.

You think strategically and act decisively—equally comfortable architecting solutions, troubleshooting complex environments, or guiding clients through evolving technology decisions. You communicate with clarity and empathy, ensuring every client feels informed and well-supported.

If you’re energized by solving interesting problems in a fast-paced MSP environment and want to help clients build resilient, future-ready systems—we’d love to meet you.

Role Overview:

As a Solutions Engineer on the Professional Services Team, you’ll lead and execute projects across infrastructure, cloud, security, and collaboration systems—translating client needs into effective, well-implemented solutions. You’ll collaborate closely with Uprise’s vCIO and strategic services teams to align technology with business goals, and you’ll serve as a trusted technical resource for clients at every stage of the engagement.

What You Will Do:

  • Lead and execute infrastructure, cloud, and security projects from scoping through delivery.
  • Design, deploy, and support server, network, and cloud environments that meet client requirements and best practices.
  • Implement and manage Microsoft 365, Entra ID, Intune, and hybrid cloud environments.
  • Configure and manage firewalls, VPNs, network segmentation, and endpoint protection solutions.
  • Conduct risk and vulnerability assessments and help clients develop remediation plans.
  • Support security initiatives including endpoint security, patch management, MFA, DLP, and EDR.
  • Assist clients with compliance readiness, documentation, and policy development aligned to frameworks such as NIST, SOC 2, CIS, and HIPAA.
  • Contribute to incident response efforts, including analysis, containment, and recovery coordination.
  • Develop and maintain technical documentation—SOPs, runbooks, network diagrams, and client-facing guides.
  • Collaborate with vCIO leadership to translate technical findings into clear business recommendations.
  • Mentor technical staff and share expertise across the team.
  • Deliver exceptional service in every client interaction, reflecting Uprise’s commitment to excellence.

Required Technical Skills

  • 5+ years of experience in IT infrastructure, systems engineering, or managed services.
  • Broad technical proficiency across servers, networking, cloud platforms, and end-user environments.
  • Experience with Microsoft 365, Entra ID, Azure, Active Directory, and Intune.
  • Working knowledge of network fundamentals: routing, switching, VLANs, firewalls, and VPNs.
  • Familiarity with endpoint security, patch management, and MDM platforms.
  • Exposure to security frameworks and compliance requirements (NIST, CIS, SOC 2, HIPAA) preferred.
  • Competence with automation or scripting tools (PowerShell, Python, or similar) a plus.
  • Strong documentation, presentation, and client communication skills.

Required Soft Skills

  • Strategic thinker with a security-first mindset.
  • Exceptional communicator with the ability to explain risk in business terms.
  • Calm and analytical under pressure, particularly during incidents.
  • Collaborative, empathetic, and client-focused.
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and self-directed.
  • Passionate about learning, mentoring, and continuous improvement.
  • Embodies Uprise’s values of excellence, accountability, and partnership.
  • Adapting to changing priorities and special projects
  • Ability to manage multiple concurrent projects with shifting priorities.

Physical Requirements

  • Lifting: Ability to occasionally lift up to 25 pounds for tasks such as moving equipment, setting up workstations, or handling hardware components.
  • Computer Work and Visual Acuity: Comfort with focusing on screens and monitors for extended periods of time for troubleshooting, configuration, and monitoring tasks, with strong visual acuity to discern fine details on screens and equipment, crucial for troubleshooting and configuring complex systems.
  • Mobility and Stamina: Ability to move around office or client sites as needed, including bending, kneeling, and reaching to access equipment or perform installations.
  • Manual Dexterity: Occasional need for manual dexterity, including tasks such as assembling hardware, connecting cables, and performing detailed configurations.

  • Experience with MSP toolsets including RMM, PSA, MDM, and network monitoring platforms.
  • Familiarity with project coordination in a managed services environment.
  • Prior experience contributing to compliance readiness or security architecture initiatives.

We encourage you to apply even if you feel that you do not meet all of the above qualifications. Frequently cited statistics show that women and underrepresented groups apply to jobs only if they meet 100% of the qualifications. No one ever meets 100% of the requirements. We look forward to your application!
