What’s Happening

Microsoft is investigating widespread issues with Exchange Online, affecting mailbox access through all methods — including Outlook desktop, mobile, and web clients.

  • Incident EX1112414: Users are unable to access their mailboxes due to issues with connection/authentication across multiple endpoints.
  • Incident EX1116357: Newly reported degradation affecting mail delivery delays, including queued outbound email and temporary nondelivery reports (NDRs) for some users.

User Impact

  • Inability to open mailboxes, send, or receive email
  • Delivery delays and failed message attempts for some organizations
  • Outlook may appear stuck on “Trying to connect…” or show a disconnected status

What Microsoft is Doing

  • Microsoft is actively deploying fixes across affected infrastructure
  • Updates for EX1112414 began rollout July 10 and are nearing most affected regions
  • A new engineering response for EX1116357 is in progress, focused on mail transport queuing issues

  • Microsoft has not provided a specific ETA, but most regions are seeing gradual improvement for EX1112414
  • EX1116357 is under investigation, and mitigation is ongoing
